Emotional triggers could affect your weight loss SUCCESS

If you have ever dieted before and taken the time to maintain a journal, you are probably already aware that hunger is not the only reason we eat.

The truth of the matter is is that most of us look to food, in varying degrees, to satisfy our emotional cravings as well.  How, what and when we eat is often a learned response that has been conditioned within us, since early childhood which attributes to a strong mind and body connection.

Here’s the good news….habits can be unlearned. By raising our awareness of the issues and events that cause us to overeat for emotional reasons to begin with, we can then learn how to take the necessary steps to avoid such self-defeating actions.

Be mindful of what you are eating and conscious of the food you are putting into your body. When eating, begin to ask yourself the what, when, where and why.

Take THAT minute to record your answers in your journal. This will help you come to terms with the emotional triggers that continually hinder your weight loss success.

Just keep in mind that old habits and mindsets can be broken. While not an easy task, taking these simple steps will put your much further ahead in reaching your goals!
