Appreciate Your Body
You pay attention to your body, you bathe it, you clothe it, you feed it, brush its teeth, exercise it (well maybe LOL), take vitamins, and then put it to bed at night.
It gives you energy to move throughout life. But do you love it? Or even like it for that matter? Do you appreciate it?
Loving one’s body gives you motion and energy during the day. There are so many facets to love and you certainly don’t have to be “perfect” first.
OK, here we go…begin by touching your foot, your thigh, your stomachg and appreciates its inner workings, mentally or aloud. Thank you for gettnig work done. Thank you for breathing. Thank you for getting me here today.
Thanking your body can be hard work in an image-conscious society. Some people focus so much on what the don’t like about their body, big hips, stomach bloated from dinner, fallen arches…..the list goes on and on, before they even think about saying the first THANK YOU. Still thank your body everyday, don’t take it for granted. For without all the working mechanisms that go into play with it, we would of course not be here.
In fact why not say thanks in front of a full length mirror. Thank you, I love you. Saying those words will help melt criticisms about how you SHOULD look and act. Life with fewer of those injunctions helps you act from what you and not what readers in Vogue magazine really need.
