The Island of Calm

When we are tense or anxious, our breathing especially becomes shallow and rapid. To calm your breathing, try to imagine yourself lying on a beautiful beach on a island paradise in the middle of the ocean.  You can hear waves gently lapping against the shore.

Listen to the pattern of your breathing. Be aware. Then try to synchronize it with the inward and outward flow of the waves,  until they become one, the rhythm of LIFE….and your breathing should now be restored to a relaxed state.
